The British Academy of Film & Television Arts : Located at 195, Piccadilly in Central London, the BAFTA promotes creativity and rewards excellence around the world in the Motion Pictures and Television Industry. The BAFTA awards as they are known are the highest honours, rewarding the best work of any nationality seen on British Cinema Screens during the preceding year.
Cinema Audio Society or CAS (USA) : A conglomerate of 550 of the best audio professionals and associates from around the world, which awards sound technicians for their outstanding contribution in the field of Sound Mixing in Motion Pictures and Television. Incepted in 1964 for creating a proper channel of communication between related sound crafts and those instrumental to the production and distribution of films and television sound track, it is a philanthropic, non-profit organization dedicated to achievement of Sound. The Society believes that effective sound is achieved by creative artistic blending of diverse sound elements and CAS's uniquely distinctive award is given to master craftsmen specialized in the art of creative cinematic sound recording for their outstanding achievement in the field of Sound Mixing.
The society observed this year that, “In the opinion of their peers, who considered hundreds of movies, these five extraordinary talented nominees have set the contemporary standard of artful sound in a very competitive field.” Previous achievers include multiple Oscar winners like Ray Dolby, Robert Altman, Jack Solomon, and Walter Murch etc.
